Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your class schedule and pricing?

Click here for the goods! Sign up opens 30 days before class begins, and signup closes 1 hour before class begins. Please note, our beginner classes fill up quickly, we recommend signing up at least a few days in advance!

How early should I arrive for class?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to park, sign-in and get settled. Class doors close 10 minutes after class begins, this is for your safety.

Where can I park?

In our parking lot or on any available, legal street spot. Please do not park in neighbouring lots, beside yellow paint or in a “No Parking” zone. We are also just a 5-minute walk from the Aberdeen Skytrain Station!

What should I wear for class?

Clothes: You need to be able to move comfortably! Workout clothes, leotard and tights, or anything that is a little more form-fitting will allow the instructor to better help you.

Shoes: For ballet classes, ballet shoes are strongly recommended, however, if it is your first class and you do not own ballet slippers yet, jazz shoes or socks will work! Pilates classes can be done in socks, or barefoot.

Hair: Pulled back securely, and off of your face. For ballet, a secure bun is highly recommended so that your hair isn’t flying in your face as you turn and jump through class!

What can I expect in your ballet classes?

Our classes are welcoming, joyful, and strengthening! And based in RAD and Vaganova technique :)

We begin at the barre with exercises to warm up and focus on technique and alignment. As we continue through class, the exercises progress into the centre of the room to help develop strength, stamina and grace. Centre work will contain adage, pirouettes, travelling across the floor, and allegro.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a full-body exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates and is focused on alignment, breathing, creating a strong core, and using effective and efficient movement patterns. It is a full body and mind workout, which will help you develop a strong and evenly conditioned body.

Pilates is an excellent workout for everyone! If you are new to movement, an advanced mover, or an athlete, Pilates will help you feel stronger, understand your body better, and help you develop confidence in your movement.
